Weekend

Such a busy couple of days! Saturday was running errands and shopping and cleaning. Saturday night we sang a bunch of songs and danced and Jamie played guitar, I played clarinet and Claudia played trumpet. Jamie and I stayed up late watching a Sarah Silverman dvd which was alternately very funny and very boring.

This morning we went to church and while the littles were in their religious education class, Jamie and I went to class with Claudia. A couple of people from Horizon House came to speak to the class. Horizon House is a very cool organization in Indianapolis that Jamie and I are interested in volunteering with. They offer various types of assistance to homeless people and we learned there are approximately 13,000 homeless people in Indianapolis every year. After they spoke to the class, we helped the class package food to send back to the shelter. One of the things they do is drive through the city every week night handing out bags of food to the homeless so we filled quart-sized ziplock bags with fruit, canned meat, peanutbutter crackers, a spoon and a juice box.

Then right after church we took Sammy and Jordan to a girlscout event that ran all afternoon. They had such a great time and they came home with a bag-full of swaps. Here they are dancing the Mexican Hat Dance.
