Wednesday

Children are registered, we've almost purchased all our school supplies/backpacks/lunchboxes and we only need one pair of jeans, one pair of shoes and a haircut and we're ready to roll on Monday morning.

We've been doing OK with the getting the kids to bed on time these last two weeks but getting up at six has been a complete disaster! But we'll manage it when it's actually time for school.

With the kids going to bed on time, we're getting actual time to watch tv and read. Netflix arrived today with For the Bible Tells Me So which Jamie and I are going to start watching tonight. I'm also reading The Longest Day: The Classic Epic of D-Day and I love it! The writing's not the best ever, but it gives a pretty amazing view of the battle. Some weekend when I have nothing to do I might sit down and re-read it start to finish and I think I'm going to find a map of the battle online so it's easier to visualize it all. It's especially interesting to me because two of my great uncles were there. My Uncle Herschell, who I knew and loved a lot was there and my mom's Uncle Bill was there, but then was killed in Operation Market-Garden afterwards.

I had my eye exam today. I *hate* having my eyes dilated, but that's ok because the neurologist said one of my optic nerves was swollen (which apparently is a symptom of a brain tumor and a pseudo tumor as are headaches!) and the opthamologist said it's actually not. So, I'm still going for an MRI and some other testing next week, but I'm feeling a smidge better about things now. Plus, new glasses soon! Now if I could just get rid of these m-fucking headaches!
