This last weekend was hot, hot, hot, but we still managed to have fun when Beverly, Walter, Jason and Leah visited. We grilled burgers, broke a pinata, and ate birthday cake.
Samantha and Jordan formed their own band and rehearsed a Ramone's song all week that they performed for us while "playing" guitar. The girls assigned everyone a place in the band (except Claudia who deemed it "stupid"—at 11-years-old, that's her job) and guests were all very good sports and enthusiastically participated (thank you!! This was a huge deal for the girls). Jason was the dancer, Leah the band stylist and photographer, Jamie joined in on the ukulele, Beverly was on the finger cymbals and Walter on minature keyboard.
And it wasn't just fun. At the risk of getting all mushy, it meant a lot to us to have everyone there. After everyone was gone I was reflecting on the fact that these three girls are just so lucky to have such a great extended family behind them from all sides.
