The Weekend

Friday night is always pizza/soda/movie night, but that's recently turned into pizza/soda/Meercat Manor night. This week we got a little crazy and did pizza *rolls* instead of pizza and we also had italian cream cake cupcakes (minus the nuts and coconut) with cream cheese frosting.

Jamie already mentioned the car thing which was *so* good. After Jamie got the car to start yesterday, I was following him home and I had all the girls in the car with me and we passed a bunch of people out on the side of the road holding huge, graphic photos of aborted fetuses. Nice. I was *so* irritated. Before the girls saw anything, I made them look down and continue to look down for about *forever*, which they thought was very weird, but oh, well.

Then we made a spice cake and went to a wine/milkshake/dessert/vegetarian dish party at our church where we met a bunch of interesting people and learned where to lay hands on organic and free-range stuff in the area (there's no Whole Foods Market here!). And also, unpasturized milk. I always have a lot of fun at parties with Jamie so it was a really nice evening.

This morning we skipped church and the kids were in their pj's until, oh, 1:00 or so. They went out back and fed the ducks

and then played Zoo Tycoon while Jamie made breakfast

and then Jamie took them to see Nacho Libre and I ran some errands and procured an antique organ stool that looks a lot like this, only with no seat and it's white:

oooh when I was in Bloomington a couple years ago finishing up the course work for the PhD there was a aborted fetus demonstration on campus and they were filming people that went by. I was so ticked off that I wrote the Dean and told him I didn't think it would be allowed to show naked people on signs and how is this different and the fact that they were filming people made it so much more wrong. he wrote back and said that although freedom of speech blah blah blah, they didn't request a demonstration so he had them removed....which I guess was a somewhat win for me. I HATE those demonstrations.

it looks and sounds like you guys are having so much fun! can i come live with you guys?

Oh, that's great that you did that. I've been thinking of writing a letter to the editor of the Star.

We are having fun and you totally can!
